PRIVACY
Privacy, plainly stated.
Out of the Blue is designed to keep the app simple and private. This policy explains what the app does, what the website may collect, and the choices available to you.
Effective date: August 2, 2026
THE APP
Data Not Collected.
The Out of the Blue app does not collect data from you. What's on your phone stays there.
CONTACTS
Your contacts stay on your iPhone.
When you grant Contacts permission, Out of the Blue uses the contacts you choose to build your call list. Your contacts never leave the device. We do not upload your address book, create an account from it, or send it to our servers.
NO ACCOUNTS. NO ANALYTICS.
The app does not require an account. It does not use analytics to track how you use it. The app does not sell, rent, or build an advertising profile from your information.
CALLING
The call stays a phone call.
Out of the Blue starts the call through the iPhone calling experience. The app uses the person you selected to place the call and reveals their identity in the app when the call is answered. Out of the Blue does not ask for access to the contents of your conversations.
THE WEBSITE
The website is a separate thing.
If you join the launch waitlist, the website may collect the email address you submit so we can let you know when Out of the Blue is ready. That website activity is separate from the iPhone app’s Data Not Collected privacy label.
The waitlist form, storage destination, retention period, and unsubscribe process will be documented here before the form is used for launch collection.
SUPPORT
Support messages are used to answer support questions.
If you contact us for help, we may receive the information you choose to include in that message. Please do not send another person’s phone number, address, or other contact details in a support request.
HOW INFORMATION IS USED
Information submitted through the website or support route is used to provide the requested service, respond to questions, maintain security, and communicate about the launch when you have asked to hear from us. We do not use the app’s local Contacts data for advertising or unrelated purposes.
DISCLOSURES
The app’s local Contacts data is not disclosed to us or to advertising partners. Website waitlist or support information may be handled by the service providers used for those website functions. Those providers and their roles will be listed here before publication.
RETENTION
The app does not send Contacts data to us, so we do not retain a server-side copy of your address book. Local call-list data remains on your iPhone according to the app’s local storage behavior. Website and support retention details will be stated here before publication.
YOUR CONTROLS
You control Contacts permission through iPhone Settings. You control which people are in your call list. If you join a future website waitlist, you will be able to unsubscribe from launch messages and request removal of the submitted email address through the published contact route.
CHILDREN
Out of the Blue is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has submitted information through the website, contact us through the published privacy route so we can review it.
SECURITY
We use the platform and device controls available to operate the app and website. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we avoid collecting information the app does not need.
POLICY CHANGES
We may update this policy as the app and website develop. The effective date at the top will change when the policy changes. Material updates will be reflected on this page before they take effect.
CONTACT
Questions about privacy?
The working privacy contact route will be added here before publication. Until then, this draft page records the product’s intended privacy position and the website details that still need verification.
